Animal Extinct

Climate change has a change in all life’s from the tiniest animal all the way threw to the biggest! Remember once a animal is extinct it’s never coming back!

All ready from 1750 to 2019 571 animals are all definitely wiped out. Changes like this can make big differences in animals life’s. Such as a certain animal eats a different animal and if that animals becomes extended the animal that ate the other animal will also become extinct. These changes are because of human activity. Humans have also built dams, homes, create pollution and many other things. This corses extension. Animal also become extinct because of sudden changes such as loss of food supply, shelter or other survival needs. People also hunt for extinction, Over the years millions of birds have become extinct because of this(the last one died in the early 1900s).

In NZ there once was a bird named the Huia bird. It was hunted for extinction. The last sighting was in 1906. When a māori killed a Huia bird they would where there feathers as a prize. The male and female Huia birds have different sized beaks. The male has has a long slim beak where the female has a much shorter and wider beak. The male used their beaks as a  pickaxe digging into wood.

Another native NZ animal the kakapo is at risk of extinction. The Kakapo is also known as the owl parrot because of its owl like body. Thousands of years ago there where many Kakapo bit now people believe there is only 40 surviving in the wild. In the breeding season males make a hole in the ground (a bowl), the male also makes paths to the bowl. At night the male sits in the bowl and makes booming sounds the sound echos in the bowl to make the noise louder to attract females. Part the reason kakapos are close to extinction is the they were here before humans so they didn’t need to fly because it used so much energy. Because of this the Kakapo forgot how to fly.

Over time animal extinction will increase in numbers if humans do not change. Humans have to stop being so cruel to animals and try to help them so they don’t  all become extinct. Pollution is also another big problem. At the moment a lot of animals are a risk of extinction. Such as the hector's dolphin, kiwis, tigers and more. Now it’s all up to US!!!
